About Empathy Studio

Empathy Studio is a learning space created around a simple belief: children learn and grow best when they feel seen, heard, and valued.

Through English, social-emotional learning, storytelling, and creative expression, Empathy Studio creates thoughtful resources and experiences that help children understand themselves, connect with others, and find their voice.

The Founder

Simab Shaheen is an author and educator whose work brings together language, storytelling, empathy, and meaningful learning.

Through her work with children and young people, she became increasingly interested in what happens when learning goes beyond academics—when children are given space to express themselves, understand their emotions, listen to others, and develop the confidence to find their own voice.

She founded Empathy Studio as a space where these ideas could come together: through books, educational resources, creative learning experiences, and work that helps young people think deeply, communicate thoughtfully, and connect with the world around them.

Her work sits at the intersection of English, SEL, storytelling, and critical thinking, with a simple belief at its heart:

Children don't just need to learn more. They need space to understand, express, and become.

What We Believe

We believe children are not simply learners waiting to be taught. They are thinkers, storytellers, questioners, listeners, and creators with ideas worth hearing.

Learning becomes meaningful when children have space to be curious, listen deeply, make mistakes, ask difficult questions, express themselves, and understand different perspectives. Our work creates those spaces—with language, empathy, creativity, and confidence at the heart of the experience.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) helps children understand their emotions, build healthy relationships, make thoughtful decisions, and develop the confidence to navigate the world around them.

At Empathy Studio, SEL is woven into language, storytelling, creativity, and everyday learning — giving children space to understand themselves, connect with others, and find their voices.
